The Comfort High softball team scored runs in four of six innings and went on to defeat visiting Bandera on Tuesday, 7-1.
Comfort improved to 11-9 overall and played Hondo Friday. They’ll host Cole on Tuesday.
The Deer scored a run in the first and added another in the third for the 2-0 lead. They pushed 3 runs across in the fourth for the 5-0 advantage before the Bulldogs could get on the board with a single run in the sixth.
In the bottom half of the frame, the Deer answered with 2 more runs for the 7-1 lead that held until the end.
CHS knocked out 6 hits in the contest and was led by Mariah McCollough, who tallied 3 hits, 2 RBI and scored a run.
Ella Thiele, Taygan Rust and Moorea Davis all recorded hits, while Rust, Kippy Sterling, Davis and Jordan Judkins all scored single runs and Thiele crossed home plate twice. Theile and Anna Munoz both drove in runs as well.
Thiele struck out 10 batters and only walked two.
