BUDA - Thursday's first-round playoff match between Boerne Champion and Liberty Hill was scoreless through regulation and overtime to send it to penalty kicks where the Panthers prevailed, 5-4.
Both teams went 4 for 5 through the first five kicks, but the Chargers missed their sixth kick and Liberty Hill made their PK to end it there.
Champion closes out the year at 16-9, while the Panthers will play in the second round as they look to defend the state title they won last year.
