Llano won Tuesday’s high-scoring softball game with Comfort on Tuesday, 18-12.
The Yellowjackets have swept the Deer this year and won both by a combined score of 34-27. Comfort slips to 0-2 in district (11-12 overall) and will host Florence on Tuesday, March 24.
Llano scored in the first six innings on Tuesday and Comfort recorded runs in every frame except one as well. The Yellowjackets finished with 20 hits and the Deer knocked out 13 hits.
Five of those CHS hits went for doubles after Paige Werner, McKenzie Pankratz, Moorea Davis, Mariah McCullough and Ella Thiele slapped out doubles.
Thiele also singled, collected 4 RBI and scored once, Werner added 3 singles to her double, pushed in 3 runs and scored a run, while Davis and Pankratz both scored twice and McCollough drove in 2 runs.
Bella Hernandez singled and scored 2 runs and Jordan Judkins hit 2 singles, pushed in a run and scored 3 runs.
Thiele pitched 2.1 innings, Esme Camacho tossed one inning and Werner threw 3.2 innings. Thiele struck out 4 and Werner fanned 3. For more on the Deer, see the Star.
