Chargers at SWISD track meet

The Boerne Champion varsity track and field teams both finished second at the recent Joe Marsh Dragon Relays held at SWISD.

The Champion girls tallied 143 points for second and the boys were second with 105 points.

RESULTS (Top 6) Varsity Boys

Juan Nava placed 3rd in the 100 (11.14) and Zachary Garcia was 5th in the race (11.22), while Brogan Dempsey won the 200 (22.20).

Hayden Fridley finished 4th in the 400 (52.32) and Shawn Edwards took 3rd in the 1600 (4:27).

Champion won the 4x100 (42.31), took 1st in the 4x200 (1:30) and was 6th in the 4x400 (3:36).

Jaxon Barnes placed 5th in the high jump (5-10), Ryder Flugence was 3rd in the long jump (20-6) and Flugence also pointed in the triple jump after he was 2nd (42-11), while Ace Giffin came in 6th in the pole vault (11-6).

Blake Stehling won the shot put (52-8) and Stehling was 2nd in the discus (164-8).

Varsity Girls

Juliana Syroney won two races after the senior was first in the 100 dash (12.03) and topped the field in the 200 (24.45).

Michelle Cerna placed 6th in the 400 (1:02), Payton Kidder was 3rd in the 800 (2:26), while Rebecca Bezerra (5:15) and Luciana Zazueta Ibarra (5:22) went 3rd and 5th in the 1600.

Bezerra (11:42), Zazueta Ibarra (12:01) and Abigail Clark (12:25) finished 2-3-4 in the 3200 for 18 team points.

Addison Davis placed 3rd in the 100 hurdles (16.31) and Tina Pham was 5th (17.35), while Davis also came in 2nd in the 300 hurdles (47.80).

The Lady Chargers teamed up to win the 4x100 (49.04) and came in 3rd in the 4x200 (1:48), while the 4x400 finished 3rd (4:08).

In field events, Maelee Mares finished 5th in the high jump (5-0), while Cassidy Breuer came in 2nd in the long jump (17-4), Bryn Colvin placed 4th (15-11.5) and Maelee Mares was 6th (15-7).

Breuer also pointed in the triple jump by finishing 2nd (33-6) and Colvin was 6th (32-6.25), while Lorena Barreiro-Bidot took 3rd in the shot put (33-2).
