As Boerne Independent School District trustees Monday approved adopting legislative education goals, officials reported early childhood scores are above state averages across the board.
Figures show the district trending double-digits, educators added. Renee Munn, director of early childhood learning, led a brief review of the BISD’s efforts to achieve, and excel, in early childhood learning areas.
“Our proposed early literacy goals (are) to increase performance from 75% to 80% over the next five years,” Munn said. In comparison, “The state benchmark is currently set at 60% and the state has not yet reached that target.”
