THE BOOKWORM

Outdoor Family Fair recap

What a fantastic day at our Outdoor Family Fair. The Bookmobile rolled in and was a huge hit; children were thrilled to pick out free books and bookmarks to take home and enjoy.

Our brave adventurers climbed aboard the blow-up dinosaurs for a sweet treat, and many families couldn’t resist snapping some roar-some photos along the way.

Visitors also had the chance to step inside the Bookmobile and explore our special outreach collection, making it a full day of fun, discovery, and community connection. We loved seeing so many smiling faces.

Herff Farm Storytime

Join us at the Herff Farmers Market on April 11 at 10:30 a.m. for a delightful outdoor storytime experience, weather permitting. Families can enjoy lively stories, sing along to fun songs, and wrap up the morning with a simple craft and a tasty snack.

It’s the perfect way to soak up some sunshine, celebrate the season, and share the joy of reading together!

Solar sky viewing

Get ready to reach for the stars. While International Dark Sky Week arrives later in April, we’re kicking off the celebration early with an out-of-this-world Star Program on Tuesday, April 7 at 3:30 p.m.

Join us at the library as the Environmental Arts Alliance guides us through the wonders of the night sky. This program will be packed with hands-on crafts, fun giveaways, and delicious snacks. We’ll even have a telescope set up outside so you can take a closer look at the stars above. It’s a stellar experience you won’t want to miss.

Parent-child workshop

May may be a quieter month in the Youth Department as we prepare for a busy summer, but we’re excited to offer one of our most meaningful programs: the Parent-Child Workshop.

This special five-session series will take place every Friday in May at 10 a.m. and is designed for parents and caregivers with children ages 1–3.

Each week, families will enjoy a welcoming play environment filled with engaging toys and an interactive art table, while also having the opportunity to connect with a different child development professional.

It’s a relaxed, supportive space to ask questions, build early literacy skills, and connect with other families in the community. For more information or to sign up, email Cassidy at cherrera@boernelibrary. org; we’d love to have you join us!

Library closed April 3

The library will be closed on Friday, April 3 in observance of Good Friday. Baby Storytime friends are encouraged to enjoy a cozy morning at home—snuggles and stories highly recommended! We can’t wait to welcome you back on Thursday, April 9 at 10 a.m. for more Bubbletime Bookworm fun.

Constance retirement open house

After 21 wonderful years of service to the Boerne community, Ms. Constance is retiring.

Throughout her time at the library, she has made a lasting impact: watching children grow up, welcoming them back as parents, and sharing her warmth and kindness with generations of families. She has truly been a special part of so many lives. We invite you to stop by the library on April 13 from 9-11 a.m. to celebrate Ms. Constance, share your well wishes, and help us send her off with lots of love.
