Pedestrian injured on South Main Street

Pedestrian injured on South Main Street

A motorist in downtown Boerne suffered “critical injuries” about 2 p.m. Monday just outside of his parked truck when a passing vehicle struck him, police said.

The unidentified man had parked in the 300 block of South Main Street and was either climbing in or stepping out of the driver’s side when he was injured by a moving pickup, according to a Boerne police report.

The injured man regained consciousness and was talking when he arrived at Boerne Methodist Hospital, the report said.

Initial reports listed the motorist as needing care for “critical injuries.”

Officers responding to the auto-pedestrian incident immediately shut down all Main Street traffic.

The other driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police, according to a release by city spokesman Chris Shadrock.
