Boerne ISD track and field athletes compete at Texas Relays in Austin

Boerne ISD had several track and field athletes compete at the Texas Relays in Austin last weekend at the three-day event.

It was the final tune up before this week’s district meet and entries must meet qualifying times, heights and distances before they are sent an invitation to compete at the event that features some of the best athletes in the state.

Boerne High

Bella Pettet competed in the long jump and finished with a leap of 16-11.25, while Brayden Scott competed in the 2K steeple chase and placed fifth with a time of 6:12.05.

Also, Boerne’s 4x400 girls relay consisting of Pettet, Penelope Kirk, Sutton Amerman and Presley Merkens ran in the DII race and posted a season-best time of 4:01.71.

Boerne Champion

In the 4000-meter distance medley relay, the Champion boys team of Mason Nelson, Jaxon Harbuck, Sebastian Carvallo and Shawn Edwards combined for 17th with a time of 10:47.75, while the Lady Chargers team of Rebecca Bezerra, Michelle Cerna, Emma Radtke and Payton Kidder combined for 10th place with a time of 12:18.33.

Ryder Flugence competed in the triple jump and placed fifth after he posted a leap of 45-03, while Brogan Dempsey ran in the 100 DII event and clocked in at 10.64 and Juliana Syroney competed in the girls 100 DII race and finished with an 11.99.
