Boerne Champion recently competed in its second track and field meet at NEISD’s Heroes Stadium. At the event, the Champion boys were second after earning 106 points and the Lady Chargers finished third with 106 points.

NEISD RESULTS Varsity Boys
Brogan Dempsey placed 3rd in the 100 (11.36) and Zachary Garcia was 6th (11.55), while Jaxon Harbuck (50.78) and Zach Smith (50.80) finished 4-5 in the 400 and Sebastian Carvallo was 5th in the 800 (1:59).
Shawn Edwards took 3rd in the 1600 (4:31) and Mason Nelson came in 5th in the race (4:40), while Noah Moreno was 4th in the 3200 (10:07) and Brandon Martinez placed 4th (10:18). Also, Landon Siwek finished 5th in the 300 hurdles (41.58).
In relay events, Champion’s 4x200 took 2nd (1:27) and the 4x400 was 4th (3:30).
In field events, Korbin Buchanan won the high jump (6-2) and Jaxon Barnes was two spots back in third (6-0).
Ryder Flugence captured 1st in the triple jump (463.25) and finished 4th in the long jump (20-9), Ace Giffin placed 2nd in the pole vault (10-6) and Finn Poole was 4th (10-6), but Giffin reached his height in fewer attempts, while Andrew Medina came in 4th in the shot put (42-5.50).
Varsity Girls
Kinsley Graff finished 4th in the 100 (13.19), Mikayla Green and Michelle Cerna went 2-3 in the 400 after Green posted a 1:00.20 and Cerna clocked in at 1:00.33.
Ellis Conroy came in 5th in the 800 (2:27), while Rebecca Bezerra (5:10), Emma Radtke (5:20) and Payton Kidder (5:31) finished 4-5-6 in the 1600. Radtke also earned points in the 3200 after she placed 3rd (11:43).
Kinsley Graff took 3rd in the 100 hurdles (16.87) and Addison Davis was 5th in the race (16.98), while Davis also earned points in the 300 hurdles after she captured 2nd (49.23) and Maelee Mares finished 5th (49.66).
In relay events, the Lady Chargers were 4th in the 4x200 (1:48) and came in 3rd in the 4x400 (4:05).
In field events, Maelee Mares placed 3rd in the high jump (5-0), Cassidy Breuer finished 2nd in the long jump (16-9) and Breuer was 3rd in the triple jump (35-1.5).
Lorena Barreiro-Bidot won the shot put with a throw of 33-5.75 and Barreiro- Bidot came in 4th in the discus (99-8).
