The Boerne High baseball team swept New Braunfels this week and clinched a playoff spot.
The Greyhounds wrapped up a postseason berth with Friday's 3-0 win over the Unicorns in San Antonio at Harlandale.
BHS's defense played well. After New Braunfels loaded the bases twice, once with no outs, the Greyhounds got out of both jams without giving up a run. In the seventh the Greyhounds turned a double play to end it with a catch in the outfield and a play at the plate where the Unicorns runner was tagged out after he attempted to tag.
Boerne Champion
The Chargers were in Kerrville on Friday night and a win by Champion would give them the 26-5A title outright. The Chargers have at least a share of the title and tried to clinch on Thursday night but Tivy beat them, 3-0, to stay alive for a playoff spot.
