The Geneva School of Boerne baseball team wrapped up the regular season with a 15-1 victory over Corpus Christi John Paul II Wednesday in Beeville.
Geneva finished the year at 7-3 in district (15-8 overall) and secured second place in the final regularseason standings. The Eagles play on Tuesday against First Baptist Christian – Pasadena at Fayetteville High School, 5 p.m. Geneva scored in all five innings on Wednesday in a game that was moved to Beeville to find a dry field. The Eagles tallied 3, 3, 4, 3 and 2 runs to end it in five innings behind 14 hits.
TJ Cross and Bryce Hanover both knocked out 3 hits, while Cross doubled and hit 2 singles, picked up an RBI and scored 3 runs. Hanover also knocked out a double and 2 singles and drove in a run.
Brady Chandler walked 3 times and scored 2 runs, Chase Doran collected 3 RBI on 2 hits and scored once, Levi McPherson hit 2 singles, had an RBI and scored a run and Gray Bruner plated a run.
Robert Jons singled, drove in a run and scored once, Harris Priesmeyer scored 2 runs and Josh Patteson hit 2 singles and pushed in 3 runs.
Hanover went the distance on the mound and threw all five innings. He scattered 3 hits, gave up 1 run, 5 walks and struck out 2 on 96 pitches.
