14 boys soccer players from BISD named all-district

A total of 14 Boerne ISD soccer players were named to the 26-5A All-District squad after their performances during the 2025-26 season.

Eight Chargers and six Greyhounds were recognized by the coaches in 26-5A, which produced a state champion after Pieper won the 5A-DII state title. The district also produced a girls state champ after Smithson Valley won the 5A-DI state crown.

Champion’s Grayson Moran was the only player from BISD to earn a superlative award after the senior was named Co-Defender of the Year.

First-team selections for the Chargers were senior Bryce Knell and senior Jones Ferguson, while senior Ethan Souza and senior Simon Trevino were both named to the second team. Senior Emilio Linaje, junior Christian Sommer and sophomore Diego Flores were recognized as honorable mention.

For the Greyhounds, senior Shae Gonzales was their lone first-team selection, while sophomore Johnpaul Santa Maria and senior Brody Bowen were named to the second team. Honorable mention picks for the Hounds included senior Ramzy Handal, junior Kolton Fischer and sophomore Brady Guerrero.

The Greyhounds missed out on a playoff spot after they finished 7-7-2 in district (9-8-2 overall). At one point, BHS was 7-2-2 in 26-5A but lost some key starters and dropped their last five matches.

The Chargers rolled to a 10-6 record in 26-5A to finish third. Champion (14-9 overall) drew defending state champion Liberty Hill in the opening round. The Chargers went toe-to-toe with the Panthers and played 100 scoreless minutes before it went to a shootout and Liberty Hill prevailed in penalty kicks, 6-5.
