Boerne Champion wrapped up its boys golf season by playing at the 5A state golf tournament at the Legacy Hills Golf Course in Georgetown earlier this week.
The Chargers finished 11th in the field of 12 teams after they tallied a 635 with rounds of 319 and 316.
Chargers golf coach Jared Martin said playing at state was a great way to close out their 2026 season.
“Making it to state is a huge accomplishment. I am so proud of these boys for their hard work and dedication. We closed out the year competing with the best that the state of Texas has to offer,” he said. “Jack (Thomas) and Gavin (Tavitas- Steele) led the way with solid rounds on both days to finish strong in their last high school tournament. Matthew (Mendoza) bounced back strong on Day 2, and Cooper (Relf) and Boden (Bouslog) showed incredible effort and grit.”
Prosper Walnut Grove won the 5A boys title with a 575 (285-290), Dallas Highland Park A took second with a 576 (288-288) and Dallas Highland Park B was third at 592 (299-293). Smithson Valley finished fourth with a 596 (297-299).
