Geneva golf teams play at state tournament

Golf teams from Geneva School of Boerne competed at the TAPPS state golf tournament on May 4-5 at Cottonwood Creek in Waco to end their 2026 season.

The Geneva girls golf team consisting of junior Adelina Vela, sophomore Lexi Oglesby, sophomore Anistyn Dennis, sophomore Londyn Winchell and sophomore Addison Griffey combined to finish fourth at state with a 784 (404380). Colleyville Covenant won the girls state title with a 747 (377-370).

Dennis had the highest finish at state for the Eagles after she was third individually with a two-day total of 165 (82-83).

This is the third consecutive year that the Geneva girls have finished fourth in the state and brought home some needed Henderson Cup points for the school.

The Geneva boys recorded a 686 (336-350) at state to place seventh. Covenant won the 4A title with a 625 (322-303).

Team members include Wil Freiling, Brooks Watson, Wells Crawford, Win Crawford and Eli Sorrells.
