A defendant about to stand trial in connection with a fatal wreck in 2024 instead pleaded guilty Monday before proceedings got underway.
Blake David Wampler, who was charged with manslaughter, entered his plea before 451st state District Judge Kirsten Cohoon just as jury selection was set to begin.
The jury pool was dismissed after Wampler entered a plea, waiving his right to a trial.
