Get ready to shake some tail feathers with the opening this week of Chicken Salad Chick featuring culinary giveaways, promotions and pet adoptions.
The Atlanta-based restaurant chain, known for its “fresh, housemade chicken salad boiled from premium white meat,” is planning on a 10 a.m. Wednesday opening at 34702 Interstate 10 West, company officials said.
According to a restaurant release, the first guest in line June 3 will receive one free, large Quick Chick container of chicken salad per week for a year.
The next 99 guests will receive a no-cost, large Quick Chick container of chicken salad each month for a year.
The grand opening will feature a seasonal special – Maui Mama Chicken Salad, made with pineapple, bacon and jalapeño.
In addition to the staple chicken salad dishes – which can be made into a sandwich or served with crackers – sides include broccoli salad, pasta salad and grape salad.
Following the debut, the restaurant will host a “love your pet day” June 5.
“The first 50 people to order food in the morning and then at 5 p.m. will get a collapsible pet bowl and pet bandana with, of course, Chicken Salad Chick on it,” said spokeswoman Janice Morfin. “We are also going to hold pet adoptions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Boerne Animal Care (Services).”
According to Morfin, adoptions in the evening will be hosted by Café House Animal Rescue.
“We’re excited to continue expanding Chicken Salad Chick’s footprint in Texas,” said Scott Deviney, CEO and president of Chicken Salad Chick, in a prepared release. “It’s exciting to see the success the OberRoc group (local franchiser) has achieved so far in San Antonio, and we know they’re only getting started.”
He added, “They’ve been great franchise owners to work with, and we look forward to continuing to grow our brand’s presence with them in the Lone Star State these next few years.”
According to the release, “Giving back to the community is an important focus for the Boerne team and the Chicken Salad Chick brand, which established the CSC Foundation to support CURE Childhood Cancer and local food banks with fundraisers throughout the year.”
As part of its “Friends & Family” events in Boerne, the restaurant will raise money for Christus Children’s Hospital in San Antonio.
The new store, which sought a Boerne location for four years, will employ 40 to 45 people and is hiring both hourly and management roles, the company said.
Chis Sample is slated to be the general manager, according to the prepared statement.
