Motorist jailed on sex assault charge

An Andrews man remains in the Kendall County Detention Center after a traffic stop uncovered a warrant accusing him of sexual assault.

Charles Douglas Pipkin, 47, is charged with driving while license invalid with previous convictions/suspension without financial responsibility; failure to identify as a fugitive; and the warrant, according to court records.

He remained behind bars Friday in lieu of posting bonds totaling $110,000.

The case began to unfold May 24 when a motorist was pulled over by a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper in Kendall County for an expired registration, During the stop, the driver initially provided a false identity to the trooper, according to DPS.

A quick check determined the man’s identify and confirmed the warrant, officers said, and he was detained.
