Boerne Champion’s Owen Kuhl has been selected as a first-team allstate baseball player by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Kuhl, who had a .990 fielding percentage, and Monterey’s Ashton Castillo were the only two 5A players from across the state to be named a first-team second baseman.
Kuhl finished the 2026 season with a .341 batting average and had an on-base percentage of .445 hitting from the lead-off spot. He tallied 45 hits, including three triples and eight doubles, while driving in 21 runs and scoring 35 runs. He was hit by pitch nine times and swiped 14 bases.
The rising senior also pitched for the Chargers and finished the year with a 9-1 record to go with 4 saves. He threw 62.2 inning and had an ERA of 2.7.
Kuhl was also Co-MVP of District 26-5A and helped lead the Chargers to their third straight district title and to the fourth round of the playoffs. Champion finished the year with a record of 34-8-1.
