District names Myers as Boerne High principal

BOERNE — Matt Myers took over as Boerne High School’s principal Monday after his appointment to the position late last month.

Myers, who served as Boerne Middle School South’s principal since 2023, is filling the vacancy left by Shane Wilson.

Wilson accepted a role as the Fredericksburg Independent School District’s assistant superintendent of student services, officials said. “Matt’s leadership experience, student-centered approach and commitment to excellence make him the right person to lead Boerne High School into the next chapter,” said Superintendent Kristin Craft. “We look forward to the vision and leadership he will bring to our students, staff and families.”

Myers, entering his 21st year in education, obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

He joined the Boerne Independent School District in 2008 as a teacher at Kendall Elementary School, moving on to become assistant principal at Kendall and at South, before serving as principal at Curington Elementary School from 2019 to 2023.

His latest job started July 6.
