Both Boerne High graduates that were taken in the recent Major League Baseball draft have signed with their respective organizations and will pursue their dreams of playing in the major leagues.
Camden Johnson inked a deal with the Kansas City Royals and Rashawn Galloway signed with the Houston Astros.

Johnson signed his deal with the Kansas City Royals after being taken in the ninth round with the 269th pick.
A post on X states that Johnson signed for $397,500. The player taken in his spot last year signed a deal for roughly $200,000 with the Minnesota Twins, an increase of close to $190,000 for Johnson, who had leverage since he could have returned to college.
Johnson just wrapped up his junior year at the University of Oklahoma and helped the Sooner win the 2026 national championship.
Johnson spent the first two years of his college career at Wichita State University but felt his talents weren’t being fully utilized and transferred to OU.
“It was an amazing experience (at Wichita State) and I learned a lot,” Johnson said. “But I felt like I was handicapped on the offensive side of the ball and I thought OU was a perfect landing spot for me.” Johnson did an interview with the Boerne Star that can be heard on the Star’s website at www. boernestar.com under the “Listen” tab at the top of the page. He graduated from Boerne High in 2023 and played for Bill Merrell.
Rashawn Galloway
Galloway went later in this year’s draft and was selected by the Houston Astros with the 481st pick in the 16th round.
Galloway played four years at Texas State University in San Marcos and played several positions for the Bobcats, including catcher, outfield and designated hitter.
Galloway’s reported signing bonus was $50,000. When he inked his deal, Galloway did it flanked by the two Houston Astros World Series trophies.
Galloway graduated from Boerne High in 2022 and also played for Merrell and was a teammate of Johnson’s.
