Six Boerne ISD baseball players – five from Boerne Champion and one from Boerne High – have been named all-state by the Texas Sports Writers Association.
Champion’s Cal Isley was a firstteam reliever, while pitcher Ethan Coleman, first baseman Brody Bendele, second baseman Owen Kuhl and third baseman Austin Garritano were all named honorable mention for the Chargers in their respective positions.
Boerne High pitcher Jackson Grimes was also selected as an honorable mention pitcher and was the Greyhounds’ only selection.
Coaches and sports writers nominate players from around the state in each classification, and then sports writers vote on the selections. There is first, second, third and honorable mention teams in each classification, 1A-6A.
Isley, Coleman and Kuhl return for the Chargers for the 2026-27 season, while Bendele, Garritano and Grimes all graduated and signed to play at the next level. Grimes signed with UTSA, Bendele will play at Ranger College and Garritano will suit up for Odessa College.
