The high school fall team tennis season is in full swing and both the Chargers and Greyhound teams closed out the first week of the regular season with several matches under their belts.
Both the Chargers and Greyhounds have played all their matches at home but will hit the road this weekend. Champion is entered in the NISD tourney this weekend and hosts John Jay on Aug. 20, to open district.
Boerne High plays in the Hill Country Team Tennis Championships in Fredericksburg and Kerrville this weekend. The Hounds host Harlandale on Aug. 18 to open district action.
Boerne Champion
After a win over Clark last Wednesday to open the season, the Chargers faced Friendswood on Friday and Lake Travis on Saturday at home.
Champion defeated Friendswood on Friday, 16-3, and then lost to Lake Travis by the same score on Saturday, 16-3.
The Chargers are 2-1 this season.
Boerne High
The Greyhounds played the same two teams that Champion did – Friendswood and Lake Travis in a doubleheader on Saturday in Boerne.
In the first match, Boerne beat Friendswood, 11-8, and then fell to Lake Travis, 13-6.
BHS is 1-1 to start the year.
