Geneva School of Boerne was entered in the Wimberley Tex-Fest Volleyball Tournament held last Thursday through Saturday and played nine matches over three days.
The Eagles went 5-4 at the tourney and are 5-5 overall.
On the first day of the tournament that started Thursday, the Eagles won all three matches. They went three games with Lampasas before winning two of them to take the match, 2-1. From there, Geneva swept Vanguard 2-0 and then beat Ponder in three sets, 2-1.
During matches on Friday, Geneva defeated Liberty in straight sets, lost to Johnson City, 2-0 and then were tripped up by Aubrey in two sets.
On the final day of the event on Saturday, Geneva faced Johnson City again and this time took a set off them, but lost the match in three games, beat Round Rock Christian in three sets and then closed it out with a two-set loss to Gunter.
Eagles head coach Tami Owens said the team finished 14th out of 34 teams, which put them in the top half of finishers and noted that is something her young team should be proud of.
Geneva visited Johnson City Tuesday and plays in the SA Saints tournament this coming weekend.
