Boerne Champion played in the Northside ISD team tennis tournament last weekend and went undefeated to claim first place at the event.
The Chargers posted a 3-0 mark with a couple of blowout wins and then clinched the title with a tiebreaker win over O’Connor.
Champion improves to 4- 1 overall and hosted John Jay on Thursday to begin district action. They’ll play Eagle Pass on Saturday in Pearsall. At the tourney, the Chargers swept Warren and Health Careers by the same score of 10-0. From there, Champion faced O’Connor and won 10-9 after Luke Zunker clinched the victory with a 10-4 super tiebreaker win.
