Boerne High was entered in the Hill Country Team Tennis Championships last weekend and posted a 3-1 mark at the event and then picked up another win Tuesday at home when the Greyhounds opened district action against Harlandale.

BHS defeated the Indians Tuesday in Boerne, 13-0, to start district play at 1-0. The Greyhounds improved to 5-2 overall and are off until Aug. 25 when they play San Angelo Central in Mason.

At the Hill Country tournament, Boerne battered the Rams of Del Rio, 12-2, and then rolled past Midland Lee, 16-3, on the first day of the tourney.

The Greyhounds returned the second day and split their two matches. BHS lost to Georgetown, 11-2, and then edged Liberty Hill, 10-9, to close it out.
