Comfort was off during the second week of September but returned to the court last week with a couple of matches to close out non-district.
The Deer were at Harper on Tuesday and then hosted Geneva School of Boerne on Friday. Comfort handled Harper but lost to Geneva before they started district play this week.
Against Harper, the Deer won in four sets, 26-14, 25-22, 20-25, 25-20 and then fell to the Eagles of Geneva, 25-18, 25-8, 25-12.
Comfort is 16-14 overall and opened district play Tuesday on the road at Blanco. They are actually on the road for their first three district matches and will visit Florence on Friday. After that, the Deer play at Ingram on Sept. 29.
The Deer had a scheduled bye on Sept. 11 but were supposed to play Stockdale on Tuesday, Sept. 8, but Stockdale overbooked and had two matches on the schedule that day, and they went to play against the other team, which gave Comfort the entire week off.
Comfort beat Leakey on Sept. 4 but didn’t play again until they faced Harper on Sept. 15, a break of 11 days because of the scheduling issues.
