A heated Kendall County Fair Association meeting Tuesday ended with the resignations of several directors, including the president and first vice president.
Wes Fleming, a fifth-year director and president of the KCFA, resigned prior to the meeting, which he did not attend.
First Vice President Kim Flessner, who has been involved with the KCFA for 27 years, also stepped down, along with Luke Green, Jason Cheney and Gigi Glenn.
The controversy surfaced after parents and royalty of the 2025-26 Kendall County Queen’s Court, as well as some community members, aired concerns about what they term mismanagement.
A local auto dealership that sponsors the event has also pulled its support.
Discord marked the Sept. 22 meeting, with some board members arguing they had not been granted permission to vote on holding the session.
Other directors disputed that claim.
Despite questions surrounding the meeting’s validity, the directors remained during the nearly two-hour public forum, where parents of both the 2025-26 and 2026-27 Queens’ Courts raised various issues.
