Boerne High runners were in action at last week’s’ Schreiner Hill Country Invitational in Kerrville.
At the meet held last Friday, the Lady Greyhounds finished second and the BHS boys came in fourth at the event.
Boerne is scheduled to run in the Seguin Meet on Saturday at Starcke Park. They’ll return a few weeks later and compete at this year’s 26-5A meet.
Varsity Boys Boerne High finished fourth with 122 points behind meet winner Smithson Valley (26), second-place Los Fresnos (109) and third-place SA Home School (115).
Kyle Clark and Colin Bartonicek were Boerne’s top two finishers after Clark came in 16th in 17:44 and Bartonicek was two spots back in 18th with a time of 17:46. Julian Wasel posted an 18:31 for 26th, Levi Mendoza clocked in at 18:39 for 28th, Kevin Rogers crossed the finish line in 18:50 for 34th, Joshua Reeves turned in an 18:56 for 37th, Stefan Bain was 38th in 18:56 and Jackson Elseroad recorded a 20:25.
Varsity Girls
The Lady Greyhounds finished second with 53 points and did a solid job of pack running. Smithson Valley won the meet with 16 points and Los Fresnos was third at 79.
Boerne’s top seven runners finished within 11 spots of each other and were led by Penelope Kirk who was eighth in 20:07, while Lucille Frank was one spot back in ninth at 20:23. Ansley Schiller finished with a 21:20 for 11th, Abigail Jendrusch was 12th in 21:17, Michaela Reichenau placed 13th in 21:40, Asnley Purcell came in 15th in 22:03 and Noelle Muir finished 18th in 22:44.
Kiera Sawyer posted a 22:51, Hallie Hembree ran a 23:41, Gweneth Lozano recorded a 24:55 and Penelope Lopez clocked in at 25:06.
