Are you ready for a shiver and a fright and strange things that go bump in the night?

Then the Boerne Area Historical Preservation Society invites you to experience “Ghosts of Boerne” on Halloween, Oct. 31.

The annual tour kicks off at the historic Kuhlmann-King House, 402 E. Blanco Road, with four presentations at noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Admission is $10 per person, according to the society.

The tours bring “local history and some of Boerne’s most haunting stories together for an afternoon of Halloween entertainment,” according to a news release.

“Now one of the society’s most anticipated events of the year, ‘Ghosts of Boerne’ will feature stories of Boerne’s famous ghosts, legends and unexplained happenings,” the release added.

Presented inside the Kuhlmann-King House, the event offers visitors an opportunity to experience local history from a different — and spooky — perspective, said organizers.

Seating is limited. Reservations are recommended and can be made by emailing Boerne. [email protected] with the requested show time, the society said.

The Kuhlmann-King House, which is maintained by the society, is “an important part of Boerne’s historic landscape. Events such as ‘Ghosts of Boerne’ help BAHPS connect the community with the people, places, stories and traditions that have shaped Boerne’s history,” a spokeswoman said.

The tour is also just plain entertaining, a society supporter added.

“‘Ghosts of Boerne’ is a fun way to experience local history through the stories that have been passed down through our community,” Julie Gossell said. “We invite everyone to join us for an afternoon of history, legends and a few good scares.”

The society is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Boerne and the surrounding area, members said.

Through the preservation of the Kuhlmann-King House, educational programs, events and community activities, BAHPS helps keep the stories and heritage of the Boerne area alive for future generations, they added.
