The burn ban in Kendall County has been lifted as of Friday, Oct. 2.
According to the Kendall County Office of Emergency Management and Fire Marshal Facebook page, outdoor burning rules still apply despite the burn ban being rescinded. “Please ensure you are in compliance with size, location, weather conditions, and all other requirements,” the post states.
Residents planning to conduct outdoor burns are asked to contact Boerne Dispatch’s non-emergency number at 830-249-8645 before igniting any fire.
County officials reminded residents that changing weather conditions can quickly increase fire danger and urged caution when conducting any outdoor burning activities.
According to Water Data for Texas, Kendall County was listed in moderate drought conditions as of Sept. 29.
Despite ongoing drought conditions, the county has received above-average rainfall this year. The Boerne area has recorded 36.51 inches of rain so far in 2026, compared to a year-to-date average of 26.94 inches.
Recent rainfall has helped improve soil moisture levels and reduce wildfire risk across the county, allowing county officials to lift the burn ban. Residents are encouraged to remain aware of local conditions and follow all state and county regulations regarding outdoor burning.
