May 29, 1929 – September 6, 2023

Mrs. Emmeline Klar Whitworth passed away peacefully in Boerne, Texas, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, with her family. She was 94 years old.

She was born in San Antonio, Texas, on May 29, 1929, to Bruno and Hedwig Klar. She was a 1946 graduate of St. Mary’s Hall in San Antonio.

Emmeline was raised on a ranch north of San Antonio, where she learned many skills. Her father raised the finest Black Angus cattle.

She was a product of the Depression and learned at an early age the benefits of hard work due to her German heritage.

She loved sports, hunting and fishing. When she was 79 years old, she killed a 10-point buck on their property off Walnut Grove Road. Emmeline was also an avid sports fan, playing bridge, Uno, and dominos.

She never missed a game when her two sons were growing up or her grandchildren and their sport endeavors. She was also very active with her sons’ 4-H activities.

Emmeline was very involved in the community. She was also active at First Baptist Church of Boerne and a founding member of the Kendall County Fair Association Women’s Auxiliary.

Emmeline was a guide for the Kuhlmann-King Historical Society where she gave tours to visitors to show the importance of the German heritage in Boerne in a well-preserved German home.

She loved her plants and was a supporter of the Kendall County Fair Plant competition where she won numerous awards. Emmeline was a member of a local garden club called Green Thumb where a plant sale was held once a year to raise money for scholarships for Boerne students.

Finally, she loved the Lord and served him faithfully.

Emmeline was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Hedwig Simon Klar; husband, Lloyd Whitworth; brothers, Harry Klar and Rueben Klar; grandson, John David Noll; and daughter-in-law, Gail Noll. She is survived by her children, Wayne (Lou Ann) Noll, Russell (Stacey) Noll, Laura Whitworth (Sam McLarty), and Lloyd Whitworth Jr. (Linda); grandchildren, Will Noll (Lauren), Sarah Scravaglieri (Davide), Ryan Noll (Niki), Amy Noll, Anne Marie Noll, Mary Ketch (David); and great-grandchildren, Raffaele, Gabriele, Margot, Phoebe, Blaine, Abigail, and Foster.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home, 1265 N. Main St. in Boerne. A reception will be held immediately after the service in the same facility.
