It is with deep sorrow to inform you that Melvin Sweatman passed away on October 25, 2023, at the age of 82.

Mel was born in Willow City, Texas, and is predeceased by his parents, Wert Leon Sweatman and Alma Gertrude Sweatman, his brother, Delton Sweatman, and his two sisters, Francis Sweatman and Nettie Ragdale.

Mel is survived by his wife, Teresa Sweatman; his children, Jeanna Schuessler (Kenneth), Dustin Sweatman (Scharriee), Jason Sweatman, Cody Sweatman (Tonya), and Allie Espinoza (Ricky); and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mel started off as a butcher at Piggly Wiggly and worked hard in oil and gas at Enron, Houston Natural Gas, Houston Pipe Line Company, Tejas, and then formed his own company Paz Gas Corp.

He also liked to buy and trade ranches and developed the Sweatman Ranch in Aransas Pass, Texas.

He was an avid collector of antiques. He loved spending every moment outside playing golf, gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 4 p.m. at Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort. Burial services will follow at a later date in Willow City, Texas.
