EDITOR’S NOTE: The Boerne Star will accept and list holiday-themed events in the Boerne Holiday Calendar each Wednesday and Sunday, leading up to the day of the event. Main St. You’re invited to take a stroll with family and friends through the little town of Bethlehem to experience the story of Christ's birth. Walk- Walkthrough times are 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. * A Toast To Olde Town weekend is hosted by the Boerne Retail and Restaurant Owners Association. Includes such events as: 

Wassail tasting and caroling contest, 4-8 p.m.; Pictures with Santa at The Dienger (by appointment only); Visit by Father Christmas, 4-8 p.m. at The Christmas Shoppe, 132 S. Main St.; and live music, craft beer, and great food from 5-8:30 p.m. at Tusculum Brewing Co., 236 S. Main St., and 9 p.m. to midnight at Salvador Dobbs, 512 River Road. * Christmas Movie and Market, Alene’s Boutique, 1491 S. Main St. The market run 2-8 p.m. There will be a movie showing of “The Polar Express” starting at 6 p.m. on an outdoor “drive-in”-style movie screen; don't forget to bring your own chairs and blankets. There will be local vendors, crafts, hot cocoa and cookies, free photos with Santa Claus, and more. 

* “A Christmas Cactus” opens at the Boerne Community Theatre, 8-9:30 p.m. Enjoy a comedy, mystery, and romance converge in this charming contemporary Christmas tale where goodwill and justice triumph. Tickets, $15, are available at boernetheatre.org. 

DECEMBER 7 

* Boerne Performing Arts presents its holiday season bonus concert, Time for Three, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. in the Boerne Champion High School auditorium. Time For Three stands at the busy intersection of classical music, Americana, and singer-songwriter. When you experience Time For Three, be prepared for a charismatic and energetic evening. • Legacy at Cibolo is hosting a Holiday Market from 4-7 p.m. at its location, 701 Oak Park St. In Boerne. Legacy invites the community to visit and purchase unique holiday gifts for loved ones, all while supporting local business vendors.

• First Baptist Church sponsors “Boerne Bright,” a walkthrough Christmas light experience at the church, 601 S. School St., that captures the true spirit of Christmas. Along with nearly 200,000 Christmas lights synced to popular Christmas music, there is fun for kids at the Gingerbread Village, a scavenger hunt, a life-size snow globe, and an outdoor playground. Boerne Bright is your newest Christmas tradition for the whole family.

December 9

• Boerne Family YMCA “Breakfast with Santa” is back by popular demand, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the YMCA, 820 Adler Road in Boerne. Enjoy a pancake breakfast hosted by Saint Peter’s Catholic Church Knights of Columbus. Pictures with Santa, crafts, writing letters to Santa, making reindeer food. Registration is open; members, $10 per child; non-members, $25 per child.

• Customer Appreciation Day at America Reclaimed, 810 Avenue A in Comfort, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will have Shim’s Be Blessed Food Truck, Bending Branch Winery and live music in the new Longhorn Lounge. Free gift-wrapping along with 30% off Christmas items and 20% off everything else, certain exclusions applying.

• “Music in the Cave: A Nordic Christmas,” from 7-9- p.m. at A Cave Without A Name, 325 Kreutzberg, Boerne. Texas Cellos returns to the Cave Throne Room to perform a traditional Nordic (cello) choir representing a Scandinavian tradition for St. Lucia’s Day. Tickets available at cavewithoutaname.com.

December 10

• Christmas at the Creek, Cibolo Creek Community Church, 5-6 p.m. Take a break from all the baking, the shopping, the endless rolls of wrapping paper, and attend this event for an unforgettable Christmas experience complete with fun, games, music, and a meaningful celebration of Christmas.

December 14

Frost Bank is hosting “Cookies with Santa” from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at its Boerne Financial Center, 1300 S. Main St. in Boerne. Free to the public, the bank looks to spread a little Christmas cheer with Christmas cookies and an appearance by Ol’ Saint Nick himself. Frost urges attendees to bring a camera to capture a forever-memory.

December 15-17

• The annual Kinderfest gets under way Friday. The Boerne Retail & Restaurant Owners Association urges everyone to continue to shop, drink, dine and stay “local.” Show off your ugly Christmas sweaters, silly Christmas pajamas, and Whoville hairdos. Friday and Saturday feature a “Cookie Crawl” along the Hill Country Mile, with tickets available at the Boerne Chamber of Commerce website. Don’t miss the “Santa Scavenger Hunt” Friday and Saturday. Pick up your Santa Scavenger Hunt passport, listing all the locations where Santa is hidden, on the day of the event at: Before Your Eyes Interiors, 189 S Main St., or The Dienger Trading Co., 210 N. Main St. There will be Photos with Santa, an appearance by Father Christmas, and a Cowboy Christmas Market. December 17

• Boerne Concert Band presents “Christmas Comes to Town,” a free Christmas concert at 7 p.m. in the Boerne High School auditorium. Music of the Christmas season will be featured. The band is made up of musical members from all walks of life, including middle and high school and college students, lifetime musicians, band directors and military veterans. From 6-6:30 p.m., the “Boerne Ukuladies” will perform Christmas songs to entertain concertgoers as they arrive. For more info: boerneconcertband.com.
