Champion water polo teams bust Broncos

Lady Chargers move into first-place tie with Brandies

SAN ANTONIO – The Boerne Champion girls water polo team picked up a big district win Monday against Brandeis at the Northside Aquatic Complex.

After losing to Brandeis in the first round of district, the Lady Chargers took the second-round match on Monday to split the season series.

The Champion girls are 16-5 overall and tied with Brandeis at 6-1 in district.

Both the Chargers and Broncos only have one district loss and that’s to the other team. If they finish out league play tied, they’ll meet to break the tie and decide seeding at the end of the regular season.

The winner of that match takes the No. 1 seed and the loser drops to the No. 2 seed entering the postseason.

In boys action, the Chargers went up 11-2 over Brandeis at halftime before cruising to the win.

The Champion boys are 16-4 overall and 7-0 in district.

The Boerne Champion – Boerne High water polo match has been moved to the city of Boerne pool. It will take place, Thursday, Sept. 26. The Greyhounds will also play Clark that day.

The Champion boys water polo team has been rolling along and is still undefeated in district. Bexon Harris also recently scored his 100th goal of the season and celebrates with his teammates. Submitted photo
