Twelve trees now grace space in an open portion of Boerne Cemetery after Tuesday’s Arbor Day planting ceremony. The Boerne Rotary Club joins the city’s Parks and Recreation Department annually to plant the trees as supplied by Burkett Arbor Care of Boerne. A group of youngsters from St. John Lutheran School turned up to help, trowels in hand, helping to fill dirt around one of the trees. Pictured, Tyler Burkett, right, helps lower a tree into a hole with the help of Boerne Rotarian Mike Lang, while Colt Burkett assists from behind.
