Rotarian Don Jones reported to fellow members of Boerne Sunrise Rotary on current progress of the club’s projects in Mexico. The distribution of new school supplies to the children in Ciudad Acuna has been completed. This project, in cooperation with the Acuna Rotary Clubs, has been going for more than 20 years.
The club also supports the Eye Bank Hospital in Aqua Calientes along with the local Rotary Club. Jones reported that the hospital now has 14 volunteer doctors and does several corneal transplants every day, restoring sight to indigent patients who couldn’t afford to pay for the operation.
“This club should be proud of the support they have given to the hospital,” Jones said. “It continues to go toward the purchase of vitally needed equipment. Thanks to you Boerne, Texas, is well respected in Mexico.”
