10 migrants detained after vehicle crashes

An attempted traffic stop at 8 a.m. Monday in Kendall County resulted in a driver transporting 10 migrants fleeing and flipping the vehicle shortly after crossing the Bexar County line.

An attempted traffic stop at 8 a.m. Monday in Kendall County resulted in a driver transporting 10 migrants fleeing and flipping the vehicle shortly after crossing the Bexar County line.

A deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on eastbound Interstate 10 in the Kendall County, but the driver fled while still behind the wheel, leaving deputies attempting to catch up with the vehicle until it flipped after exiting the interstate at Balcones Creek Road.

Information from the Department of Public Safety identified 25-year-old Peter Diaz, of Jacksonville, Florida, as the driver, and the other 10 passengers as undocumented men between the ages of 18 and 45.
