Giving recognition where it’s due

Hope for Heroes Texas CEO Brad Cornell recognized three first responders from Austin and San Antonio law enforcement with Boerne appreciation packages on Saturday morning at the Bevy hotel. Cornell has been honoring area first responders for months through his nonprofit organization as he welcomes them and their families to Boerne for special presentations that are attended by dozens of local residents, who also show their appreciation through hearty applause. On Saturday, Cornell, pictured wearing the cowboy hat, recognized Jacob with the San Antonio Police Department, left, Javier from the Austin PD, center, and Julius from Austin PD. Cornell said he does not give out the first responders’ last names because oftentimes they work undercover. Star photos by Zachary-Taylor Wright
