After years of work and hundreds of projects reviewed and catalogued, the Kendall County, Boerne and Fair Oaks Transportation Committee is wrapping up its efforts with hopes of completion by the end of August.
Members said there is still a lot of work to be done in the countywide committee’s three meetings this month as the bike and pedestrian trails subcommittee just presented its vision for a massive trail system and several policy recommendations have yet to be drafted or finalized.
However, the massive undertaking of reviewing the hundreds of mobility projects submitted by residents, public figures and committee members is complete, and committee Cochair Don Durden said he hopes to see a final report adopted by the Aug. 16 meeting. This would leave the committee with an Aug. 30 meeting to review and wrap up any loose ends, but Durden put one September meeting on the books just in case.
