Promises made, promises kept
Thanks to the support of our community, voters in the Boerne ISD boundaries voted to pass BISD bond propositions 1 and 2 in May. We are very grateful to the voters for supporting this bond, as it was truly a grassroots effort, led by the Long Range Steering Committee. We are greatly appreciative to the total of over 80 parents, students, staff, and community members who served on the committee, and worked hard to help pass this bond.

BISD names Pomeroy Director of Student Support Services
The Boerne Independent School District has announced that current Cibolo Creek Elementary School Principal Krista Pomeroy has been named Director of Student Support Services for the district. With Mrs. Pomeroy's departure, Kimberly Simmons, the current Cibolo Creek Assistant Principal, will serve as the Interim Principal at CCES for the remainder of the 2022-23 School Year.

A 22-year-old shirtless man found himself behind bars Monday morning after officials said he abandoned a burning Seguin work truck on the side of Interstate 10 near Boerne.

Cibolo Preserve prescribes flames
Back before homes lined the hills of Kendall County, rolling grasslands dominated the area. Wildfires were a natural part of the ecological function of the waving fields, but decades of flame dousing have left grasses overgrown and reduced biodiversity in preserved areas of town, according to local preservers.

Sexual Assault Survivors’ Task Force issues second biennial report to legislature
AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the Governor’s Sexual Assault Survivors’ Task Force (SASTF) issued its second Biennial Report to the Texas Legislature. The report includes policy recommendations for the 88th Legislative Session and summarizes task force projects completed since the last biennial report – including the creation of a trauma-informed rubric, a safety planning framework, and a law enforcement sexual assault response protocol.
