Earlier this month, Kronkosky Place received a $75,000 check from the Kendall County Commissioners Court to purchase a new handicap-accessible van to continue to provide transportation for seniors. The funding was part of the American Rescue Plan Act which was allocated to Kendall County. Kronkosky Place is an activity center that provides an environment for anyone age 55 and up to participate in leisurely and engaging activities. The transportation program has been an ongoing lifeline for many seniors in the community. KPlace transportation facilitates rides for seniors to and from the center to the grocery store, doctors’ appointments and other essential errands in the local community and will now be able to assist those living with a disability. The annual Kendall County Junior Livestock Show took place at the youth agriculture and equestrian center during the first week in January as hundreds of local 4H and FFA youth showed their best animals during the various shows and competitions. The cattle were in the spotlight toward the end of the week as Bailey Fischer (Bib 156) works her Brahman to keep it in line as she paraded around the arena before Addison Page patiently waited behind her Hereford variety for the judges to finish. During the middle of the week, sheep, goats and lambs took center stage, and Mason Rogers walked his goat and then tried to keep it under control. Star photos by Keith E.
