Boerne ISD announces 2022 Athletic Hall of Honor class
The Boerne Independent School District has named the Athletic Hall of Honor Class of 2022 inductees. This year’s recipients are Bradley Suttle (baseball), Jeff Voight (basketball), Matt Toohey (golf), Jaclyn (Toohey) Yarbrough (volleyball) and Marla (Troester) McDonald (golf), as well as Harry Fish earning the Bill Canavan Memorial Benefactor Award.

Cow Creek moves into Stage 3 drought
Kendall County’s groundwater district has moved the unincorporated areas of the county into Stage 3 drought conditions as water levels continue to drop and water ceases to fall from the sky, leaving the area in drought conditions of historic proportion.

High-flying flags
Boerne Noon Rotary Club members spent early Tuesday morning putting up American flags along Main Street and other downtown areas in observance of Flag Day, which was June 14. The activity is one of the things the local Rotary Club does as a service organization. Annual Pride Walk aims to help send message
A founder of the local chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays and Touchstone Community Church pastor said the group’s efforts in Boerne – including the 5th annual Boerne Pride Walk last Saturday – are leading to positive change for local members of the LGBTQ community. But she said there’s still work to be done.

Academy graduate
The Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department conducted its annual Junior Police Academy last week as 40 youngsters went through the program and learned about various law enforcement policies and procedures as well as the basic functions of a working police department. Attendees also had the opportunity to practice what they learned through various exercises during the week. Kendall County student wins 4-H Roundup award
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo officials presented 70 students from 4-H programs across Texas, including Anna Muck from Kendall County, with $1.4 million in educational funding on June 9 during the annual 4-H Roundup in College Station.
