Darleen Reese Lee

Feb. 25, 1931 Sept. 17, 2025

Darleen Reese Lee, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025. She was born Feb. 25, 1931, to Herbert Carl and Opal Robertson Reese in Blackwell. Oklahoma. She grew up on a wheat farm in Nardin, Oklahoma. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, with active memberships across Oklahoma and Texas. Darleen married Robert Warner Lee on June 1, 1952, in Nardin, Oklahoma. They started their married journey in Ponca City, Oklahoma, where their two sons, Mark Robert and Kirk Reese were born. The young family moved to Houston, Texas where they set down roots and raised their sons.

In 1983, retirement took them to Boerne, Texas, where they became active members of the Boerne United Methodist Church. In 2010, they moved to Sugar Land, Texas, to be closer to their sons and their families.

Through the years, Darleen’s enjoyment was drawn from her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy came from being a Nana, and an Aunt Tootsie to her numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. They will greatly miss her gusto for life and her calm and loving demeanor.

In her spare time, she enjoyed needlepoint, crochet, gardening, and bird watching. She was always grateful for all her friends in the Genesis Sunday School class in Boerne and her bible study group at Brookdale in Sugar Land.

Preceding her in death were her beloved husband of 62 years, Bob; her parents, Herb and Opal Reese; her in-laws, Warner and Ruth Lee; and her daughter-inlaw, Jenny Lee.

Darleen is survived by her two sons, Mark of Houston, Texas, and Kirk (Anjanette) of Sugar Land, Texas; her grandchildren, Matthew Lee, Christine Lidiak (John-Michael), Katie Colburn (Will), Brandon Lee, Bryce Lee, and Caroline Lee; her great-grandchildren, John Gareth Lidiak, Emma Grace Lidiak, Cash Colburn, Maisie Colburn, and Darcie Jo Colburn; her sisters, Carolyn Landis (Rex), and Londa Pontius (Dale); her nephews and nieces, Gregory Landis (Amy), Chris Landis (Melissa), Jonathon Landis (Karen), Toni Eckart (Eddie), and Tara Burkett (Judd); her great-nephews and greatnieces, Reese Landis, Hunter Landis, Wyatt Landis, Mackenzie Landis, Caleb Landis, Ashton Landis, Haden Landis, Jacob Eckart, Laura Eckart, Colby Eckart, Brock Burkett, Benton Burkett, and Bayne Burkett.
