Smithson Valley found a way to slow down the previously red-hot Lady Greyhounds soccer team.
Entering last Friday’s match in Spring Branch, the Boerne girls were 3-0 in 26-5A and had scored 15 goals in those three district wins, but the Lady Rangers were able to shutout BHS and record the 2-0 win.
The Lady Greyhounds are 8-3 overall and 3-1 in district. They hosted Boerne Champion Tuesday and then visit Alamo Heights Friday.
Even though the Boerne High girls suffered their first loss of district, head coach Jeremy Shannon said the team played great.
BHS actually scored a goal against the Lady Rangers last Friday but it was waived off because of an offsides call.
