Bobcats blow out YMLA, Geneva closes out regular season with win

Comfort High was at home and Geneva School of Boerne was in Houston on Friday and both Kendall County football teams won.

Comfort High

The Bobcats posted their most lopsided win of the season after they crushed Young Men's Leadership Academy Friday night, 73-6.

Comfort has won two straight and improved to 2-3 in district and 3-6 overall. The Bobcats close out the regular season this coming Friday at Blanco and will likely need to win that game by 18 points to give themselves a chance at a playoff spot depending on what happened elsewhere in district play Friday.

CHS was up 36-0 in the first quarter and took a 43-0 lead into halftime after they tacked on a touchdown in the second quarter. The Bobcats tallied 22 more points in the third and then won the fourth quarter, 8-6, to close it out.

Geneva School of Boerne

Geneva closed out the regular season Friday on the road and picked up a 45-21 win at St. Francis Episcopal.

The Eagles were basically playing for pride since the outcome of their game in Houston didn't affect their district standing going into the playoffs that start this coming Friday for TAPPS teams.

Geneva locked up the No. 2 seed in their district with their previous win but head coach Adam Foren said they were playing to win and wanted to see a strong performance from his team as they begin their postseason.

The Eagles improved to 9-1 overall and 5-1 in district with the victory. They are scheduled to play a team from the Dallas area next week to start the playoffs. Be sure to check The Boerne Star for details.

Shae McNew rushed for four touchdowns in the win, while Caleb Quitadamo tossed two touchdown passes to Sam Horton, and Trinity University commit Parker Eiland booted a 29-yard field goal.

Geneva was up 45-7 before St. Francis tallied the final two scores of the night.
