The first pitch of the 2025 high school softball season will be tossed this week for the Boerne ISD teams.
Not only will both the Chargers and Greyhounds begin play this week but they’ll open their seasons with district games right out of the gate.
Because of the rain, both teams had their games moved to Wednesday.
Boerne hosts Wagner Wednesday, 6 p.m. while Champion welcomed Veterans Memorial to Charger Field for a 6:30 p.m. contest.
The BISD teams will play in their first tournaments this weekend in Seguin that starts Thursday and continues through Saturday.
Boerne and Champion tangle with each other since they are both 5A schools this year.
The Chargers and Greyhounds play March 4 and their second-round game will be April 4.
Geneva School of Boerne and Comfort High will also begin their softball seasons soon.
