Comfort High visited Ingram last Friday for a district softball game and the Lady Warriors were able to run rule the Deer, 15-2.
Last Friday’s victory also gives Ingram the sweep over the Deer and drops them to 2-6 in district. Comfort is 5-17 overall and played at Brady Monday. They close out the season next week against Blanco.
It was 0-0 after the first inning, but the Warriors opened up a 6-0 lead by the end of the second.
Comfort scored its 2 runs in the top of the third. Taygan Rust started off the inning with a double and later scored following a ground out and an error.
A two-out single from Kippy Sterling later made it 6-2, but that would account for all of Comfort’s runs in the game.
Ingram added 6 more runs in the third and then finished it out with 3 runs in the fourth. They didn’t have to bat in the fifth.
The Deer tallied 4 hits, including a single and a double from Rust, while Sterling knocked out 2 singles. Ella Thiele picked up an RBI and scored a run, while Rust scored the other run.
Thiele tossed an inning and struck out 2, while Kaydence Stehling threw 3 innings in the circle and fanned 2 batters as well.
