Both the Comfort and Florence softball teams were defeated Thursday and finished district play tied for fourth place at 3-7.
Since they split their two games this year and no one has the head-to-head advantage, they’ll break the tie on Monday, April 21 in Blanco, 5 p.m.
Monday’s winner heads to the playoffs.
Blanco defeated Comfort Thursday night, 16-1, and Ingram took care of Florence, 9-4.
Comfort is 6-19 overall and 3-7 in district.

Blanco’s win on Thursday completes the sweep over the Deer. The Panthers also defeated Comfort on Monday, 19-4.
Blanco 19, Comfort 4
Comfort had a great start to Monday’s game and was up 4-0 before Blanco had batted but the Deer didn’t score the rest of the way, while the Lady Panthers only got better as the game went along.
Blanco scored 5 in the first, 6 in the second and 8 in the third for its 19 runs.
Comfort had 5 hits in the game, and they all came in the first inning when the Deer scored their 5 runs.
Ella Thiele, Jordan Judkins, Kaydence Stehling and Lilah Bohnert all singled, while Taygan Rust doubled and Hope Van Geffen was hit by a pitch in the first. After that, they went down in order.
Thiele, Van Geffen, Judkins and Stehling scored, while Rust picked up 2 RBI and Stehling and McKenzie Pankratz drove in one run each.
Thiele went 2.2 innings before the game ended and struck out a batter.
The Comfort softball team plays Florence for the fourth and final playoff spot available in their district. The Deer and Lady Buffs play Monday, April 21, in Blanco, 5 p.m.
