Last Thursday’s 16-1 loss to Blanco left Comfort and Florence tied for fourth place in the softball standings at 3-7.
Comfort and Florence met Monday in Blanco to break the tie, and unfortunately for the Deer, Florence was able to win the shootout, 15-10.

Blanco 16, Comfort 1 In their regular- season finale last Thursday, Blanco defeated the Comfort Deer, 16-1.
After a 0-0 first inning, Blanco jumped ahead 4-0 in the second and added another run in the fifth.
The Panthers batted 17 batters in the fourth frame to blow it open and scored 11 runs to get its 16 total runs.
Comfort scored its only run in the second inning thanks to a Taygan Rust solo home run. After falling behind in the count 0-2, Rust let the next two balls pass to even the count at 2-2. From there, she fouled off two pitches before sending the next one over the fence in center field.
The Rust homer made it 4-1 at that point and turned out to be Comfort’s only hit of the game. After that, the Panthers tallied the next 12 runs to close it out.
Esme Camacho pitched for the Deer and tossed 102 pitches in the game.
