Billy F. Barnard
Feb. 20, 1932 April 16, 2025
Billy Fred Barnard, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died April 16, 2025, at the age of 93. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Born Feb. 20, 1932, in Coryell County, Texas, to Wesley Abraham Barnard and Veda Marie Bray, Bill spent his childhood in Gatesville, growing up with his brothers and sister. After graduating high school, he proudly served in the United States Army for three years.
On Aug. 18, 1962, Bill married Tanya Pearl Park. Together, they raised their blended family in Monahans, Texas, where Bill worked for Texas Electric.
Bill and Pearl later bought 10 acres in Junction, Texas, where they built Fox Hollow — a retreat with cabins on the South Llano River that welcomed guests and created lifelong memories for their family.
Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with family and friends. In retirement, Bill and Pearl settled in Fair Oaks Ranch, where they have resided for the past 25 years.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Abraham Barnard and Veda Marie Bray Barnard; four brothers, Otis, Basil, Edward and Harold; and one sister, Mary.
Bill is survived by his cherished wife of 62 years, Pearl Barnard; three sons, David (Conny) Barnard of Missouri, Marty Prewitt of Abilene, and Fred Barnard of Virginia; two daughters, Yevonne (David) Creasey of Canyon Lake, and Elizabeth (Buddy) Preuss of Fair Oaks Ranch; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 1 p.m. May 10, 2025, at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 208 W. Bandera Road in Boerne, with the Rev. Ann Marie Quigley-Swanson officiating.
